Dec 4, 2016- Speaker Onasari Gharti called on Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun on Saturday morning.
During the meeting held at Pun’s residence, Gharti informed him about the obstruction in Legislature-Parliament, her Russia visit from November 20-26 and her upcoming visit to Dubai for participation in an international programme of women speakers.

Gharti informed the VP that she had held separate meetings with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to resolve the differences over the constitution amendment bill registered in Parliament, said Gharti’s press adviser Babin Sharma.
The Speaker expressed her readiness to play the role of a facilitator to forge consensus among the parties. VP Pun stressed the need for ending the polarisation between the parties immediately, asking the Speaker to take initiatives to that end.
Prez calls parties for meeting
KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has invited top leaders of the parties to Sheetal Niwas at 4pm on Sunday. Sources at the President’s Office said all the chiefs of the parties represented in Parliament were invited for the meeting. Bhandari is said to be preparing to discuss the political situation and ask the leaders to play a crucial role in providing a way out. (PR)
